QCHC Welcomes New Medical Director





Quality Comprehensive Health Center is pleased to welcome Dr. Alicia Howard as the new Medical Director. “I am very excited to have Dr. Alicia Howard join Quality Comprehensive Health Center. Her clinical expertise and public health experience will be a huge contribution to our team and our mission to promote wellness and health equity for those living with health disparities in the Carolinas," Dr. Ra'Shawn D. Flournoy, said.


Dr. Alicia Howard, MD, MPH is a native North Carolinian and is a alumna of Charlotte's own Harding University High School. Dr. Howard is a graduate of Howard University in Washington, DC where she completed a dual degree in Biology and Psychology via magna cum laude. During her tenor at Howard University, she was inducted into the international honor society Phi Beta Kappa and joined the Alpha Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. She went on to receive her medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA where she was awarded the Woman One scholarship and Albert Schweitzer fellowship. Additionally, Dr. Howard obtained her Master’s in Public Health via the dual MD/MPH program with a concentration in Health Management and Policy from Drexel University School of Public Health. She went on to complete a three-year residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine who has a special focus on Hospital Medicine.


Outside of Dr. Howard’s medical, academic, and philanthropic pursuits, she spends her time as a wife and a doting mother to her beloved daughter and enjoys working on her family’s developing homestead.
